Would you go out to a bar and pick up any random handsome man to spend the night with to mute the heartbreak of your long-term lover - your rock - walking out on you?

Caitlin Edison was so badly hurt by her boyfriend of ten years leaving her that she no longer wanted love, she wanted a cure for love.

After several drinks, one of her best friends suggested she indulge in a one-night stand, a mindless night of fun with absolutely no consequences, to help her heal.

At first, Caitlin scoffed at the idea, but one reckless night, she plucked up all her courage and actually followed through.

There was only one problem - how did Caitlin end up with the one guy in town who wanted more than a one-night stand?

'Hooking Up' is romance at its best – exhilarating, surprising, passionate, witty, moving, enraging, frustrating, sly, worldly and wise.

When Caitlin gets the ride of her life, so will you. Hook up with 'Hooking Up', place yourself in the safest of hands and let yourself go.

The author has successfully weaved a very nice story. The book tells of a story that is not too deep to comprehend and not too shallow as well, that you would think it is a waste of time to read it at all.

If there is one thing that I would have change, it would be the "karate thing". In my own opinion it somehow doesn't fit. Along with the Karate jargons that were discussed in the book. The author could have created a character like Sensei but a little closer to the ordinary. Like an old man who became the father figure that Caitlin missed? Anyway, such is just a small glitch in my reading and wouldn't have dented my interest to finish the book.

Unlike other negative reviews I've read, I found this book as something that has a mixture of reality and purely fictional. The one night stand and how Ryan pursue Caitlin after is a little over the top. To add to that was when he got rejected and he resort into finding all sorts of legal faults in Caitlin. It got me confused though if he was trying to get even or get her attention. All in all Ryan and Caitlin are both lovable characters. They were able to fight off all adversaries that came their way to make it through their HEA. Some of the scenes, especially the custody battle are realistically written and would let the readers feel the same experience.

The author was also able to make very credible antagonists in the form of the Grandma and Michael. Their presence in the book will keep you at your wits end and find yourself wanting to slap them for Caitlin. Highly recommended and I've read the next book already never wanting to wait another day for the next chapter.

What a crazy messed up life. Caitlin had grown up with her best friend Michael. They went through a lot together. Her first kiss, her real love (Which was Michael) The loss of her parents at the age of ten. She had always thought her and Michael were ment to be.

Ten years together,Michael had other ideas though and they didn't include Caitlin.Dumped and depressed Caitlin goes out with her girl friends for a little cheering up.She gets some advice from her friends on what she should do. One of her friends tells her about an artical she read in a magazine about Hooking UP. So tells Caitlin that's what she should do. Hookup with someone for a one night stand to help her feel better about herself.

Caitlin goes to a bar by herself and picks out some random guy to Hookup with. But things get out of hand the very next morning. She can't get rid of him. He wants more from her. He wants to explore a relationship with her. She just wants to be left alone.

This is a great little story, it's fun and quirky and will keep you interested enough to want to root for them!! I quite enjoyed it!
Caitlin and her friends are out drinking when one of them suggests that she get over the breakup with her boyfriend of 10 years by hooking up with a stranger for a one night stand. She knows that it is not in her personality to have a one night stand so she just lets the idea go. But the idea is stuck in her head somewhere and one night she was feeling restless and full of courage so she decides to give it a try. But there is a problem with her one night stand man. He wants more and he doesn't seem to be going away even after she tells him that she doesn't want a romance. There relationship is not easy and they have man ups and downs. But to keep it together, they will have to learn to trust and let go of their pasts.

Review This was a great book that kept my interest at every turn. The story of Caitlin and Ryan has it all, romance, drama, humor and it's sexy. Their story is very well written. It was an easy read that had me cheering for these two to make it thought the twists and turns of life. And did I mention that its sexy. These two are burning up the pages. I certainly have no problem recommending this book to all of you. So pick up a copy and enjoy.

This book started off very promising. The writing was light and modern, the style and voice nice. The main character had just gone through a bad break up, and had a traumatic childhood, so we empathised and related to her straight away. Her diverse group of friends looked like they were going to play a major role and add lots of comic moments. The initial scenario was great, a female talked into looking for a one night stand, and the delightful role reversal of her being the one not able to get rid of the guy.

However, it went downhill a little. The main character never really found herself, she never seemed to be able to decide what she wanted, or who she wanted, and ended up being whiny and annoying. The characters became a little unbelievable and contradictory. People who had meaningful careers that would take strong personalities and mind sets were clingy and needy. They kept running back to a Grandmother who had more or less told her she hated her and never wanted to see her again, those little details annoyed me, and made me lose all connection and empathy with the main characters.

The plot line got a bit excessive, and I found myself actually looking at how far through I was to see if it was nearly over. Unfortunately it was sitting at just over 60%. I read until the end, but was a little bored. I must admit, I ended up not really caring if they got together at the end or not, and was glad when it was over. The writing was definitely promising though, and the initial concept very strong, it just got a bit lost in the middle.
